The Broadway
Ultra Society presents the
2015 FAT ASS TRAIL MIX-UP
Sunday - December 13th, 2015 at 9:00 AM
Final results for the 50
K and the 30
K have been posted. Please contact
Richie if you have questions about these results.
The 2nd running of the Fat Ass Trail Mix-up was
be held on Sunday, December 13
at Alley Pond Park starting at
9:00 AM. This event will be the
final stage of the New York Ultra Running (NYUR) Grand Prix Series and
could determine the GP winners for 2015. You can enter by mail or on
this page through Ultra Signup (with no added fee). The event will be
two races in one: a 30-kilometer and a 50-kilometer
but not separate. There only will be one start, and
if you do go on to 50K, you still will be recorded with an official
time and place for 30K. You DO NOT have to declare
what distance (30K or 50K) you are running.
If you ran the event last year, there have been a few changes. The Start
& Finish will be by the Alley Field House on Winchester Blvd. not the
Picnic area. Hence, we will be able to use the Field House (instead
of tents) for indoor activities like for pre-race registration, post-race
refreshments and award distributions. The course has also slightly changed.
The loop is longer.
The race loop has been divided into two sections. The “morning” loop
and the “afternoon” loop. The former will be four circuits of
4.66-miles to equate to 30K. This loop is
a combination of 60% paved park paths and 40% trail. When 30K is completed,
you then will only need to run 4 more circuits but without the
trail portion plus some added distance to complete
50K. That loop will be around 2¾ miles. There
will be an aid station at the trail entrance (and exit), and a race
volunteer will direct you on your 5th loop. All entries by December
9 will receive a colorful crew neck sweat shirt with the “Fat
Ass” logo. All finishing awards will display a fat ass figurine and
something more distinctive for those completing 50K.
A full Information Sheet and manual Entry Form can be downloaded by clicking the button below. If you register on-line on Ultra Signup select either the
50K or 30K, but you can change your mind when you finish the 1st four
loops.
Please assist with race planning by entering as soon
as you can. Thanks.
